Flemings

Welcome Mr. Glick!

Flemings on Ohio gets points for ambiance. A short flight of stairs leads to a grand setting for steak and we had the prime table. Monica, oh, Monica, there were requests for lap dances, and your tip would’ve improved had you acquiesced.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, the jalapeƱo mac & cheese was brilliant.

Excellent appetizers, excellent sides. The preparation of the steak was questionable. One steak was sent back for another try. I think the right word for the preparation is ‘uneven’ although the special, the 20oz bone-in fillet improved in the way you’d expect, closer to its center. The service was a bit absent minded. The Cubs’ performance may have weighed on the evening.

With so many options in Chicago for steak, I’d pass on a return trip to Flemings. A quick vote reconfirmed our reigning favorite, El Grille Capitale.

  1. Steak was, as Roddy mentioned, below average. It’s a steakhouse. Get it right.

Everything else was very nice including the ambiance, our fine female waitress from a foreign land and the sides.
